I Measure Zero Ohm Between The Inner And Outer Of The Coaxial Cable, Is There Is A Short Circuit On The Antenna?

Question:
I measure zero Ohm between the inner and outer of the coaxial cable, is there is a short circuit on the antenna?

Answer:
At POYNTING we consider various safety aspects when designing the antennas. Some of our antennas are designed with DC shorts or a path to ground. This is to allow static build up to discharge safely without damaging the equipment connected to the antenna.

The DC short on the antenna will seem as if you are measuring a short when you test for continuity with a multi-meter, but this is normal with some of our antennas. Therefore, if you are still able to get information with regards to signal strength with the antenna it means the antenna is operational.
