New 5G Antenna From Poynting – Same Look, Double The Power!

Imagine installing an entirely new engine in your car, producing twice the power; the car might look the same, but just wait until you turn the ignition on! Similarly, our new XPOL-2-5G antenna will supercharge your internet speed whether you are using 3G, 4G/LTE or 5G. Irrespective of which mobile network operator or router you use – this antenna will do the trick.

Our existing XPOL-2 antenna has already become known as a benchmark of RF engineering design and quality for this type of antenna. Due to the high market demand, we have decided to continue producing the existing XPOL-2 antenna (V2) and additionally introduce a new 5G ready model (V3) of the same antenna. This provides customer options for the existing XPOL-2 LTE antenna and additionally for this new 5G ready version.

The new 5G version (XPOL-2-5G) offers exceptional 2×2 MIMO performance from 698MHz through 3800MHz. Both antennas look similar from the outside but the 5G antenna has been completely redesigned on the inside. We have used advanced metamaterial technology, making use of Artificial Magnetic Conductors (AMC) and new registered/patent pending radiator configuration, which is proving to yield exceptional improvements in bandwidth and gain.

Radiation patterns of this antenna are exceptionally well controlled, further adding to the performance of the antenna. We rightfully consider the XPOL-2-5G a next generation antenna due to the innovative technology used, hence its enhanced efficiency and RF performance.

“Even though this antenna is brand new, we have had extensive interest from various mobile network operators in Europe and the rest of the world. We have received pre-orders for several thousand units to be used by a major operator in Norway.” says Stephen Froneman, CEO of POYNTING Antennas.

In addition to the new 3400MHz to 3800MHz frequency bands, the antenna’s gain in the 1700MHz and 2700MHz is around 2 to 3dB higher than the “V2” over the same frequency bands! Our “V2” antenna already outperformed most competitors over these bands, so this substantial improvement in gain shows the benefits of the new advanced materials and novel radiator design, while improving radiation patterns and overall performance. From an LTE/5G user perspective, this translates to better throughput experienced by the end customer and lower C/I (Carrier to Interference ratio) for the operator, thereby enhancing network capacity and available throughput for their subscribers.

The XPOL-2 (current V2 antenna) will remain unchanged and still be offered to customers. The technical specifications of the new POYNTING 5G Antenna (XPOL-2-5G) can be found on our website. Please contact us at [email protected] for more information.
