Achieving FRAS Compliance for POYNTING Mining Antennas

We are excited to announce that our mining antenna for WIFI, 4G, 5G, and LTE are now Fire-Resistant Anti-Static (FRAS) compliant.
This underscores our commitment to safety and performance excellence in the mining industry.

The testing process ensures compliance with the requirements outlined in the NSW Technical Reference Guide MDG 3608. Conducted by SIMTARS (Safety in Mines Testing and Research Station) in Australia, this assessment included three tests:

1. Fire Resistance:

Evaluating combustion propagation characteristics per AS 1180.10B:1982. (Check out photos of the radomes before, during, and after the tests.)

2. Oxygen Index Test

Conforming to ISO 4589-2:2017 standards.

3. Electrical Resistance Test:

Complying with MDG 3608:2022, C5 specifications.

The completed tests confirmed that our antenna radomes meet the flame resistance and anti-static requirements for safe use in coal mines in Australia.

FRAS compliance represents a significant milestone for POYNTING. In mining environments where fire hazards and static electricity are potential risks, the adoption of Fire-Resistant Anti-Static materials is crucial. Our FRAS-certified Mining Antennas now offer a reliable and secure communication solution tailored to the unique challenges of mining operations.

With this certification, POYNTING reinforces its position as an industry leader, providing mining companies with antennas that prioritize safety without compromising communication efficiency. Our FRAS-certified Mining Antennas are essential for communication systems in the mining sector, offering peace of mind and unmatched reliability.
