Our PUCK & MIMO-3 antenna series are versatile antennas that can be used for a wide variety of applications, such as industrial & commercial, automotive & mobility, IoT & M2M, etc. – anywhere where a highly durable and highly rugged antenna is required, while providing exceptional performance and enhanced availability.
To ensure that we offer the best possible antenna solution for a given environment, we decided to update this range of antennas to offer an IP69K rating for peace of mind when implemented. We put our PUCK & MIMO-3 antennas through the rigorous testing procedure for IP69K rating and the antennas passed with flying colours.
How will the updated certification of our PUCK & MIMO-3 antennas benefit our customers? The IP69K rating is the highest ranking of the Ingress Protection (IP) rating scale and gives our customers the confidence that our antennas will hold up under intensive daily cleaning, which has several benefits. It will help manufacturers meet stringent sanitation standards, such as food and beverage processing, pharmaceutical applications, chemical manufacturing, etc.
The IP rating scale works as follows:
The first number of the rating indicates how dustproof a product is, ranging from 0 to 6. The second number indicates how watertight a product is, ranging from 0 to 9. The addition of ‘K’ after the second digit, indicates specific protection from high-pressure jets.
The IP69K rating means a product is completely dustproof and can withstand washdowns at pressures of 80 to 100 bar or 1160 to 1450 PSI, in phases of 14 to 16 L/min, and at high temperatures of 80°C/176°F. The water is also sprayed at different angles of 0°, 30°, 60° and 90° for 30 seconds each. In short, that means high-pressure jets blasting hot water at a piece of industrial equipment with no negative consequences – which is very impressive.
An IP69K rated antenna can reduce downtime, as they are extremely reliable in harsh conditions. This gives the customer greater confidence that production can continue 24/7 without any interruptions. This will in time enhance productivity, as the antennas can be installed in virtually any harsh location, which improves workflow and saves time.
These ratings allow a company to choose an antenna with the right level of protection for any given environment.
