Poynting Antennas has an exciting opportunity for a Junior Desktop Support Associate. The ideal candidate must be interested in providing hands-on IT support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, Cloud services and IP networks.
Key Responsibilities
Desktop Support
Proficient in Microsoft Windows (10, 11) Office 365 – Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio, SharePoint, Loop.
Assist with Google Drive configuration, operations, VoIP, and soft phones clients for mobile and desktop.
Set up and managing accounts and permissions on Active Directory / Azure.
Provide assistance with various Printers and Scanners.
Remote users and configuration required to connect to Poynting Clouds.
Remote desktop support (Team Viewer, Remote PC).
Validate and configure VPN access for all remote technical users as required.
Provide training on hardware and software usage of systems to employees along with other systems as required.
Technical Support
Proficient in Mimecast, Sophos firewalls and Anti-Virus software, Pulseway and CCTV system support.
Provide assistance with access Control monitoring and operations.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity.
Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, and other devices.
Manage user accounts and access to various IT systems and technologies.
Assist with the implementation of new technologies related to IT systems and technologies.
Create and maintain documentation related to technical support procedures and best practices.
Assist in technical upgrading and maintaining of entire desktop and laptop systems.
Support in testing and deployment of new applications and systems.
Understand and troubleshoot E-mail technologies and mobile device management.
Assist to maintain and resolve issues on LAN/WAN, VoIP telephone, and biometric systems.
Coordinate with vendors to resolve technical problems with desktop computing equipment and software.
Update and maintain the computer inventory and equipment.
Assist with IT procurement and associated documentation and processes.
Administration and Reporting
General correspondence and administration completed accurately and timeously
Email, inbox, and data managed timeously and effectively
Professional image maintained in all communication
All reporting and feedback requirements met, and reports completed accurately and timeously, according to company requirements
Drafting, maintaining, and ensuring adherence to departmental processes and standard operating procedures
Supply statistics and information as requested.

Qualification & Experience
Matric and A+, N+, MCSE will be advantageous
