FAQ – Distance from a base station

QUESTION:

What is the maximum distance you will receive signal from a from a base station (BTS) with 4×4 LTE?

Answer:

It is important to emphasize that RF propagation depends on quite a few things including antenna sensitivity, power output, network congestion, weather conditions, the terrain layout (clutter), operating frequency to mention just a few.

However, you’ll typically still get good LTE service from a BTS even at 50KM away if the mentioned factors are in your favour.

  •  BTS = Base transceiver station
  • LTE = Long Term Evolution
