Q: Do I need to supply power when mounting a MIMO-3 antenna on the roof of my vehicle?
Does it require a specific voltage or any internal modifications?

A:
No, the MIMO-3 antenna does not require any power connection. It is a passive antenna, meaning it does not contain any electronics that need to be powered, and it does not include an internal router.

However, your router or modem, which is typically located inside the vehicle, will require power to operate. This can be supplied in different ways depending on your location and setup:

  • In regions like the USA, a standard 110V AC power outlet is commonly used, with a compatible power supply for the router.
  • In many other countries, 220V–240V AC outlets are standard.
  • Alternatively, if you’re off-grid or travelling, the router can be powered using the vehicle’s 12V DC system, often via an inverter that converts DC to the necessary AC voltage.
