Reliable internet connectivity is essential for modern retail operations. For Tchibo Budapest Kft., maintaining access to critical invoicing and inventory management systems required a flexible solution that could perform across permanent stores and temporary pop-up locations.
Working with implementation partner SYSWIND, Tchibo deployed a Fixed Wireless Access solution combining the POYNTING XPOL-1-5G+ antenna with a Teltonika RUTX50 dual-SIM 5G router.
Tchibo operates multifunctional stores in shopping centres across Hungary, combining retail and café services. The company also establishes temporary pop-up sales points during the holiday season.
Reliable internet access is critical because Tchibo’s invoicing and inventory management systems connect online to a central server. Any interruption could affect the systems supporting daily store operations.
Tchibo needed to standardise connectivity across locations with different infrastructure and service arrangements. Wired connections varied between shopping centres, while installing fixed-line services at temporary pop-up locations was often not practical or cost-effective.
At the initial test site in Budapest’s MOM Park shopping centre, the reinforced concrete structure also affected indoor cellular reception. Testing confirmed that the router alone could not provide the signal quality required for reliable operation.

SYSWIND implemented a Fixed Wireless Access solution using the POYNTING XPOL-1-5G+ antenna and a Teltonika RUTX50 dual-SIM 5G router.
The XPOL-1-5G+ was installed to improve cellular signal reception within the challenging shopping-centre environment. Its cross-polarised omnidirectional design supported the multi-cell connectivity requirements of the installation and helped establish a reliable 5G connection.
The Teltonika router provided dual-SIM redundancy with automatic failover, while the Remote Management System enabled SYSWIND to monitor and manage the connected equipment remotely.
The system operated successfully throughout the one-month test period, providing the reliable internet connection required for Tchibo’s invoicing and inventory systems. Following the successful test, Tchibo introduced the solution at additional stores.
