At POYNTING, we are committed to refining and improving our antenna products to meet the changing needs of our customers. Whether it’s through performance validation, mechanical upgrades, or increased compatibility with modern technologies, our goal remains clear: to deliver reliable, future-ready connectivity solutions.
The WaveHunter antenna has built a strong reputation for use in demanding marine and mobility environments. In the latest WaveHunter-V4, several key upgrades have been introduced:
Moulded Base Design: The new moulded base replaces the previous machined aluminium one, reducing the antenna’s weight by approximately 9 kg. This makes installation easier and enhances mechanical performance.
GPS Upgrade: The antenna now includes a high-performance, all-band GNSS module with a peak gain of 28 dBi, covering 1160 to 1610 MHz. It supports a wide input voltage range (3–12V), adding to its flexibility.
Electrical Performance: Aside from the GPS enhancement, all other electrical characteristics remain consistent with previous versions.
Our RF Engineering team recently completed re-measurements of the OMNI-293 and OMNI-493 antennas. The results confirmed a broader operating range:
Updated Frequency Range: Expanded from 617–3800 MHz to 617–6000 MHz.
Peak Gain Revision: Adjusted from 9 dBi to 8 dBi to provide a more accurate reflection of performance across different environments.
The physical design remains unchanged, but the revised specifications offer a more realistic view of antenna performance in real-world conditions.
