Reliable Dual-Band Tunnel Coverage for Seamless IoT and Automation in Harsh Underground Environments

The HELI-42 is part of POYNTING’s Mini-HELI series, designed to provide robust dual-band 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi coverage in mining tunnels and other underground environments where IoT and M2M communication are critical. Despite being compact compared to larger models like the HELI-3, HELI-4, and HELI-8, the HELI-42 delivers medium to high gain performance. This bi-directional Wi-Fi antenna ensures consistent coverage in both directions, making it ideal for telemetry, mining automation, and IoT deployment throughout the tunnel network.

Optimised for Tunnel Communications: Supports both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi frequencies to provide continuous coverage for IoT and industrial automation.
Bi-Directional Radiation Pattern: Delivers Wi-Fi signals in both directions, ideal for long tunnel corridors and bidirectional coverage needs.
MIMO-Ready with Circular Polarisation: Available in Left-Hand Circular (LHC) and Right-Hand Circular (RHC) polarisation for optimal MIMO performance when used with the BRKT-46 bracket.
Non-Line of Sight (NLOS) Propagation: Maintains connectivity around bends and past obstructions such as mining vehicles and machinery.
High RF Reliability: Reduces signal fading in complex tunnel environments due to polarisation and spatial diversity.
Rugged Compact Design: Built to endure the demanding conditions of underground mining operations with long-term durability.

The HELI-42 is the ideal antenna solution for bi-directional Wi-Fi coverage in mining tunnels, offering reliable performance for industrial IoT, telemetry, and automation applications even in the harshest environments.
